Fix a site that shows a critical error

Fix site finds the broken plugin or theme and switches it off; nothing is deleted.

Steps

  1. 1Open the site's page. The Error log section shows the fatal error: file, line and message.
  2. 2Press Fix site (or ask your AI to run fix_site). A broken plugin is switched off, a broken theme swapped for a default WordPress theme, a broken must-use plugin renamed aside.
  3. 3It checks again and repeats up to three times, then tells you what it did and how to undo it.
  4. 4Fix the real cause, then switch the plugin or theme back on.

What it does not do

It never edits or deletes code. Errors in WordPress core, wp-config.php or drop-ins are reported for a person to fix. Rescue works because a small must-use file answers the hub's signed requests even when the rest of the site is broken.
