Connect a WordPress site

Install the connector plugin, press Connect with Sitecommand in wp-admin and approve in the hub.

Steps

  1. 1Download sitecommand-connector.zip.
  2. 2In wp-admin go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin, choose the zip and activate it.
  3. 3Open Tools → Sitecommand and press Connect with Sitecommand.
  4. 4Sign in to Sitecommand if asked, pick tags if you use them, and approve. The site appears on your Overview within seconds.

What connecting does

By default the connector creates an administrator called sitecommand. Every request from the hub runs as that user. It cannot sign in, reset its password or hold application passwords. Delete or demote it in wp-admin and the hub is cut off at once.

The connector needs PHP 7.4 or newer and WordPress 6.0 or newer. It updates itself from signed releases; you never have to update it by hand.

Moving a site to another account

Connect it again while signed in to the other account. The site moves, its settings reset and its sweep history is removed. A site with Code Lock on refuses the move until it is unlocked.

Still stuck? Ask Commander in your dashboard and press Talk to a person.
